A letter to my love,
From the first day we met to the day we brought our little Anastasia home from the hospital. Remembering who you are as a person from the beginning to now. How much you have grown and changed. Of course, none of which is considered bad. Cause growth and change are apart of life. In fact, I write this because I caught myself in awe of exactly who you are and what you have become and your journey to reaching this point in life.
You have been through a lot. A lot of happiness, and memories that make you smile when you talk about them. A lot of grief, which I can assure you some was caused by me. A lot of pain in growth, cause how does one grow without a little discomfort? A lot of learning, in so many ways. Whether it’s how to share your time with the world, or learning the ways of fatherhood. You have been through a lot and have experienced a lot in such a short amount of time. And have a lot of battle scars to prove it. And good memories to relive. You’ve got quite the storybook to share with the world and a testimony that proves of God’s unending and sacrificial love for us.
I’m so proud of you. Proud of the man God has molded you into be. Proud of the man you have become despite what the world tells you. Listening to God in times of trouble instead of running down the not so narrow path. Standing up for what you believe and who you believe in. Fighting, even when it’s easiest to put your sword down. Standing up for what’s right. Even when you’re the only one standing.
I’m so proud of how amazing a father you already are. Even though you’ve been doing this for a few short weeks! You’re already the most selfless, sacrificial, loving father I’ve ever laid eyes on. Making sure your girls are taken care of.. Even when you can barely keep your eyes open. Or sleep on the living room floor cause it’s most convenient for me. And changing those diapers at 2 in the morning when I can’t pick my body up off of the couch.
I’m so proud of the kind of husband God created you to be. We’ve been through so much and to some people.. Where we are in our marriage would be considered a miracle to them. We’ve pulled through the toughest of times, watched our marriage almost crash in front of us, slowly mend and heal and create a beautiful life we now call our daughter. You’ve proven to be more than just a husband to me. You are my tangible reminder of God’s love. And I’m so proud to call you my husband, a true family man.
So Daniel.
Thank you, my Love. For everything you are. Everything you have done. Thank you for being the man you are to the world, the husband you are to me, and the father you are to Anastasia. Thank you for the sacrifices you have made for me. Thank you for the sacrifices you have made for our daughter. Thank you for your kind heart and gentle soul, the beautiful heart and soul I fell in love with almost 6 years ago.
I love you all the way to God and back.
XOXO
Whitney
